If so how do you find your Orange reception?

I find it absolutely diabolical. I rarely get above 1 bar in the area.

Is it just me?

I have no problems and get a lot more than 1 bar most of the time
(all bars near tesco) though afaik a few patchy areas still remain.

Strange. I thought it was a problem with my phone (treo 650) but I swapped
the SIM into a treo 600 and I got exactly the same poor reception.

I can't use the phone at all when home (mostly no bars) and it varies widely
from all bars to no bars when I go around the general area. Yesterday I
briefly got a "Sim registration failed" message, but this has not come back
since I switched the phone off and on. I've been on Orange PAYG for about 7
months now.

I've tried a T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile SIM and these appear to work OK.

Generally ok, though the coverage at New Square Park, Bedfont (Cisco
headquarters) is appalling. Also the Feltham cell was up-and-down most
of last year. Lot's of pockets of 2G only (no 3G) coverage.

For actual coverage, much better than T-Mobile, bit worse than
Vodafone, though the only problem area i've found is New Square Park
above. Strangely the call connection rate seems generally better on
Orange than Vodafone though.
