SonyEricsson W800 or the newer and slightly more expensive W810i. Both
ship with 512Mb memory cards and are excellent for music, and have 2
megapixel cameras with autofocus and flash.

I know it's annoying, but usually newsgroup newbies learn after they see the
majority of users posting as is expected.
Incidentilly I did try that wee utility a while ago, but couldn't get it to
work for some reason.

If the default was to start typing at the bottom, the cretins would
include the whole preceding message thread.
Every news client puts the cursor at the top so that you can review
the preceding message and decide how much of it to leave as a quote.
Admittedly OE makes it harder than it should, but there are better,
free alternatives people could use.

The 6230i I'd say. Better screen, better camera, takes the same memory
cards. It can do MP3/Radio and will be the same interface.

You need to remember that not everyone is a computer expert like
yourself. They might not be aware of alternatives. Saying these people
have dead brains just confirms your ignorance.
Just because someone isn't up to scratch with the latest news clients,
it doesn't make them stupid. There was a time when these "newbies" were

That's a really bad analogy. No one is gonna get hurt here, it's not the
law for a start. it's more like people who insist on driving along at
30mph in a 50 zone. Annoying to some, not really worth creating a big
deal over.

You are entitled to your opinion, but by the same token so am I. Also,
should I know the answer to a question asked, it is extremely unlikely I
will reply with that answer to a persistent top poster.
If you want the answer to a question on any newsgroup, it is a very good
idea to post on that group in the generally accepted format.

Well boo hoo. Perhaps if you're *so* small minded to behave like that,
then perhaps your replies would be similarly worthless.

Nothing to do with technology. Common sense dictates that an answer FOLLOWS

He is perfectly entitled to his *opinion* but if he wants a reply in a

convention.

Common sense I hear you say?
Common sense really down to the person in question. Some people might be
of the opinion that putting the new material at the top is easier.
Rarely is a post ever taken out of the context of the discussion, what
with modern newsreaders that cache articles, and Google Groups.
I had this discussion about 8 years ago, its a matter of respecting
other people and how they like do things. Who gives a damn? I can't be
bothered with any more posts to this thread as I really do have better
things to be doing.

Well firstly it's a small percentage of posts that are direct
questions and answers anyway. And secondly, the answer *does* follow
the question since the question is in the previous post. You're
talking about the position of the *quote* and as Marc says, you should
respect where people prefer to put the quote in their posts. It's not
like it's hard work to figure out. You have to wonder about those who
can't even grasp a different posting style.

Exactly.
I always welcome top and bottom posters with equal interest.
What pisses me off are the self-appointed (self-important) 'net police
whose limit of intelligence is to slag off top posters.
I suppose I should be more considerate, understanding that these sad
f**kers don't have a real life or aren't capable of proper discussion.
