Author Business phone - which one to choose?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a business mobile phone soon, but I would like some
advice before I make a choice.

So far I have narrowed my selection to XDA Exec and Nokia 9500. Anyone knows
which one is better?

The main feature I am looking for is wireless connectinity to the internet
so that I could either use my home wi-fi network or hot spots at airports
and other places.I have found out that XDA Exec serves this purpose better.
What about Blackberry?

Anyway, if you can think of the best busienss mobile phone on the market
just now, please let me know.

Cheers,

Paul

As long as you can cope with the size of the HTC Universal (aka XDA
Exec) , I would go for that - runs Windows Mobile 5 at 3g speeds - has
a decent speed processor.

Because the XDA Exec is too big for me, I've used HTC Magician,
Charmer, Prophet instead.

How about the Nokia E60? That might be worth a look.

Is it aka O2 XDA 2i?

Nice one, I will consider it. But I am unsure about wi-fi connectivity. Does
this phone connect to the Internet via my home wi-fi network without any
charges whatsoever from O2 (in this case)?

Cheers,

Paul

Yes, as long as it's in range - if not it'll try to connect via
GPRS/3G, but you'll know which it's connecting to.

(HTC Magician, Charmer, Prophet are all much smaller than XDA - they're
XDA Mini-S size, but a bit less thick, as there's no sliding keyboard).

One thing to be aware of is that the browser on windows mobile 5 devices
doesn't support pop-ups. Recently, using my MDA pro, I was unable to connect
to my wi-fi provider (T-Mobile) in Munich airport because the system they
use there relies on a pop-up window for the log-in page.

Cheers, Steve.

Have you considered the new 9300i which is wifi enabled and can support
blackberry as well. Drivers are available from Nokia website. I don't
have experience of it - it just the blurb but it is now available UK -
but is still quite pricey even on contract
