It's a known issue; sounds like someone's not been bartering enough to get a
replacement my friend ;-)

The joystick is a major design flaw, but i've taken to use the alternative
button for selecting things, as it also means my big clumbsy thumb doesn't
press left/right/up/down instead of select. woo.
