Hi all,

Just bought an XDA III and was wondering what the best network for it is,
coverage wise? I live in Portsmouth UK and the phone is currently locked to
O2. Also, what are the chances of bricking the phone when unlocking it?

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil,

Are you sure that the handset is locked or you just assume this? I ask
because I have never had an O2 phone supplied locked, including an O2
XDA Mini S which I am currently using.

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure, because I've been in contact with the guy I'm buying it off
and he said it's being sold due to a contract upgrade. Who supplied your
phone?

Hi Neil,

It was supplied by O2! Perhaps you should ask him to try other SIMs and
confirm the status of the phone. I would still be suprised if it is O2
locked.

I'm guessing the one you have that you say is unlocked is a contract phone?
Because his reason for selling this is a contract upgrade, so it may be
unlocked. :-) I get it Wednesday so only time will tell I guess. Are you
still on O2 regardless that your Mini is unlocked? What's their service
like?

Hi Neil,

Yes my phone was contract but I work in Belgium so the O2 SIM is in
another phone and the XDA is running a Belgian Proximus SIM with
absolutely no problems.

Best of luck with your phone.
