Author GPS on a Nokia

Some advice please - I have a Nokia 6280 to which i would like to add
a GPS programme - not too bothered which one but something like TomTom
or viaMichelin would be fine.

Is this possible to do? I understand that there is a question as to
whether or not a GPS programme will work well or at all on a 6280

If it is unlikely to work can anyone please suggest a Nokia handset
that will work succesfully with a GPS programme?

Go to TomTom or Michelin (whatever that is) and see what phones they work
on.

Keep dreaming! Tomtom don't make software for series 40 nokia. You will
need a symbian-based Nokia for proper navigation. The best you could do
would be something like wayfinder (google it).

I don't like any of them I'm afraid. They've yet to release a symbian
model which isn't plagued by software bugs. I even tried going back to
Nokia by getting myself an N80 but after 2 weeks of trying my patience
it went on ebay.

I note that coincidentally, Nokia have just announced the N95 which
has, among other things, GPS - apparently with a built in GPS rx'r.

The Telegraph has a report/press release here

I think I'll probably give this a miss until the price drops a bit!

On paper the N95 is a might machine, with GPS and a 5 megapixel camera.
It remains to be seen if it's been worth the wait.

We're getting them in tomorrow but with strict instructions not to sell
any until Monday.
