cheapest PAYG GPRS?

Orange - a quid a day if you register it as an add-on.
T-Mobile - GPRS and 3G data capped at a quid a day.
I can report that both work adequately well.

But not 3G, and it is a quid (max) till midnight. You have to register
every day you want it.

Automatically, but if you use less than £1 worth, the per-megabyte
charge is very high. Best for people who use it a lot on some days,
but not at all on other days.

Now I think about it, that would suit me. I use Orange PAYG £1 a day at
the moment. Whenever I use it, it's for the whole day, half a dozen
times a month usually. I'll look into this. Any recommendations on a
'cheap ' 3g phone with bluetooth, so I can use it as a modem with my
macbook?

Note that using a phone as a modem on T-mobile PAYG is breaking the T&Cs
but no one has reported any action being taken yet.
Check 3G coverage on T-mobile site too.
After they started giving 3G coverage in an area of North Wales I go to
regularly I'm also looking for a cheap 3G data handset so I'd welcome
suggestions.
One to avoid is the Motorola A835 it is incompatible with the latest
T-mobile SIMs. An old Nokia 7600 had been suggested when I asked this in
the past.

thanks for the info...The £1 a day sounds good...still need to find out the
exact data costs as i will only be using it a couple of times a week (my old
M2000 PDA).

That's good to know, because I wouldn't use it as a phone. Apart from
maybe needing a new battery, I still haven't outdone the usefulness of
my T610 yet! :)

Isn't the T610 fabulous! Great calls, practically indestructable; all
the basics (GPRS, Bluetooth) - a leader in its time and I still rely
on mine.

I've dropped mine countless times, so it's a bit bashed now, but in
perfect working order. I think for leader in its time, I might nominate
the lovely T39 instead!

| Orange removed the 3G restriction on the =A31 daily extra about 6 months
ago. I'm using it on a PAYG 3G sim on my laptop now!
No 3G signal right now due to an outage on 3G for the last 24 hours -
but thats another story! :-)
