Remember though that T-Mobile also offer the Web'n'Walk options, one of

Indeed they do. You just have to have 3G USIM. These are free from
Orange shops if you don't have one.

But last time I checked that £1 for all day browsing wasn't available on
Orange 3G.

I'm led to believe that restriction was removed some months ago,
although I have no cause to test this for myself. It was also on the
Orange list a few months ago.

It has been. If you look on the T&C's at www.orange.co.uk/extras it
lists the Orange World £1 Daily Bundle and Orange World 3G £1 Daily
Bundle. The only difference is there is a cap on the 3G one at 25MB,
but I imagine with most things on Orange this is a soft cap and will
only be enforced if it is heavily and continuously exceeded..
