12p anynet anytime Orange PAYG
|
|
|
| Planned on leaving Orange PAYG for O2's £10 top-up and 300 texts and cheaper
voicecall costs.
Got through to retentions (0800 376 2285) who asked why I wanted to leave.
Explained O2's voice call costs 25p for first 3 mins, cheaper than Oranges
charges (to mobiles).
Was offered a new deal (PAYG customers are priority at the moment - maybe to
avoid churn).
New deal is £10/mth topup - 300 texts, 12p calls flat rate anynet/time and
5p Orange to Orange.
Topups are £10 (300 texts) or £20 (greater number of texts).
I haven't seen this advertised anywhere as yet - have you?
Spoke to Derek in Retentions - helpful guy!

That's OK, but you'd be better off with a Three contract @ £15 or
£17.50 a month as you get a lot more (including free phone too)

Maybe he is of the ilk who can not get contract deals, you know, the people
that pay as you go is set up for, (no self control).

Very helpful - offering you very little over the old PAYG offer (minus, it
seems, free calls to other Orange phones between 7PM and midnight - or is
that still there?)
The 12p a minute cross net calls is a bit of a red herring when other
companies are now offering very similar prices and, of course, 0871
callthrough numbers mean that it's possible to make cross net calls for
around the same price anyway (with the added benefit of knowing that the
inflated coffers of Orange are not being further bulked up).

Free Evening Calls is a promotion, it's not part of the tariff.
