Author Date and Time missing from Samsung d900 Meta Data

I have recently purchase a Samsung SGH-D900.
The pictures it takes do not have the Date and Time
information attached. A real pain. Is this typical of
all mobile phone cameras? Or just a missing feature
on the Samsung?

I was told when I purchased the phone that there
was a 14 no quibble return policy and a 28 day swap
out if I was not happy with the phone. When I went
back to the shop 3 days after purchase they told me
that didn't apply if it was an upgrade! This is an O2
pay as you go phone.

The missing time/date is a big deal from my perspective.

If I decide/manage to swap the phone what should I
go for? There are three things that draw me to the
Samsung - 1 the larger screen (I'm getting on a bit :-),
the cover over the keys - I keep forgetting to lock the
keyboard!, and the 3 Mpixels...

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Roy

Hmm - apols for this - I should have said

Date Picture Taken info

not Date and Time.

OK - so there are two things to be aware of.....

One...
=====
The Samsung SGH-D900 does not correctly update
the "Date Picture Taken" field in the meta data.
Using Exifer I can see that the field is always set to

1899:12:30 00:00:00

This means that if you put your photos into something
like Adobe Photoshop Album or Picasa you will be unable
to sort them by date, or tell when the photo was taken.

Two...
=====
When the salesman in an O2 shop tells you that there
is a 14 day no quibble guarantee, make sure you
get it in writing... :-(

Not happy, not happy at all...

OK - O2 have managed to redeem themselves.

I spoke to Customer Services and they overturned
the decision by the local manager (who had told
me he had contacted head office for guidance),
and they have allowed me to exchange the phone.

What the manager in the store was playing at I have no idea...

Well, Customer Support said that the 14 day guarantee
was new or upgrades... So don't think it was company
procedure..
