| Forget it, you can't see a thing.
Now does that make the phone unusable and liable for return under some
sales of goods act ?
I'm not being bitchy. I really do like the thing but it's useless in
the day with the sun out and that makes it unusable

I don't have any difficulty seeing mine in the sunlight. Go into
settings and whack the brightness up to max.

My Nokia e61 is fine in the sun. It has an environment sensor which
adjusts the contrast/backlight depending on light conditions.
What the OP needs is a Nokia 7110. LCD screen, fine all the time.

I've spent the last three hours cleaning mine.
Washed with Triplewax, washed with triplewax again, rinsed with warm
water, fixed the chainguard, put the rear baffle back in the exhaust
with new nut & bolt after the other nut dissapeared on a ride-out last
week, cleaned the chain and rear sprocket with parafin, rinsed the
chain & sprocket with warm water, cleaned the wheels, filled up the
scottoiler, applied paint cleaner to the tank and associated plastics,
buffed it off, applied paint polish, buffed it off, applied paint wax,
buffed it off and finished off by liberally applying WD-40 to the
chrome exhaust before smearing most of it off.
It's almost shining.
Something terrible is bound to happen to it next week.

Well, unusable for a few days a year, anyway.
