| Guys 'n' Gals,
When I plug my phone into my PC (Windows XP SP2) I get the pop up on the
task bar telling me that new hardware has been detected. I then get the
"choice" box about how I want to play the media files it's spotted. I
click on "Cancel". I then get two copies of the install new hardware
wizard. I cancel both - they both seem to be relating to modems, I think
both are the same.
I then do what I want, which is usually to suck photos off the camera.
This works OK - and I can save to or delete from the phone's memory. The
problem arises when I want to unplug the phone. I can eject drive H:
(the phone's memory - or maybe the memory card in it) and it disappears
from Windows Explorer - and I can't ever see it again. When I click on
the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the task bar, it offers me drive H:
but always says it can't be removed and to try later.
Of course, I can just unplug it and the phone's fine bit I can't then
reconnect it. Does anyone know how:
1) I can plug the phone in without getting the Choice box and install
wizards up, which I never want and
2) How I can safely disconnect the phone so that I can re-connect it if
I want?
Thanks,
--
Peter
