Vodafone SIM question

| I have recently got a dual SIM holder, the sort you need to cut round the
SIM. It works perfectly well with Virgin SIMs and with Orange SIMs but it
will not work with Vodafone SIMs which is the main one I want to keep. Can
anybody suggest a reason why this should be and a way to get to use my
Vodafone SIM? The Vodafone SIM still works as a single SIM even after it
was cut to the same template as the others.The phones the dual SIM was tried
in are a Nokia 3100 and a Sony Ericsson T610. Yeah I know, not the latest
technology but they do an oldie like me :-)

The way these Dual SIM card holders work assumes that the SIM cards are the
same basic design. Simply, the Vodafone card you are using is designed
diffently to the other cards (maybe because it is a SIM and a USIM or
because it has some newer features enabled or because it works over a
different voltage class).

Thank you for your helpful reply. I didn't realise they were different so
you've saved me cutting more Vodafone SIMS ( all free of course :-) ). I'll
just have to carry two phones till I've used my free amounts on the Virgin
SIMS ;-)
