Author advice on mobile wanted

Anyone give me any advice on the best deal? I'm starting again from scratch.
I use my phone primarily as a PDA so need a phone that handles the usual
office files. I'd also like "unlimited" internet access. not bothered about
too many minutes - only use about 45 a month and about 100 texts.
Alternatively a SIM which will work in my XDA mini
Not really bothered which network.
My head is spinning looking at various deals!

This isn't the counter in a phone shop! What have you looked at already and
narrowed it down to, it saves people repeating what you know.

I guess there will be other recommendations, but I've had a number of phones
over the years (all for mainly business related stuff) but my current N95 on
Tmobile WnW is the best yet. Does everything you could ever want, just make
sure you charge it every night. YMMV

Not at all! They have forced the price of phones that just make calls to
trivial levels so everyone can afford one! You can nowbuy a phone for
less than £20 which does more than those costing £100 just five years
ago.

I know Helen but why do people buy the singing and dancing phones or

Myself and family do not go and sit in the car to play some board game
we do so to get from A to B and play board games on the kitchen table.
I know it is the way of the modern world people Helen I have had a

Good for you. Not everyone has the same needs.

I don't care! lots of people buy all sorts of things I wouldn't touch;
that is their folly.

I quite enjoy SMS as it happens; something to occupy me on boring public
transport journeys without disturbing anyone else, at minimal cost.

I thought for a minute you had managed to say all that in just one
sentence. :-)

That'd be because you don't have any mates, Ron.

Well what i was looking at is the Nokia 6120 on 3, the
£15 Talker X-Series Silver. I'd prefer it to be the texter but I can't see
that it's an option. It has Symbian OS so I'm assumi ng it will deal with
office docs, mainly word. I need it to be able to synch with my Outlook
though and I can't find out if it does

The Nokia 6120 Classic will sync with Outlook for Calendar & Contacts only,
sorry it doesn't do email.

The Nokia 6120 Classic comes installed with QuickOffice which will allow you
to read only Word/Excel/Powerpoint files, you need to pay extras for the
edit functionality.

Dee, try using one of the mobile comparison sites, such as the one below,
you can choose the mins, txts, etc and the software will search all the
online deals to display you the best deal overall for monthly cost or you
can even change this if for instance you want to exclude cash back deals
etc.

http://www.mobilephonecontract.co.uk

Over 50,000 deals compared everyday, shows the true monthly cost of deals
from a large selection of on-line retailers.
