SWMBO's Orange gone AWOL

| 'erself has been having problems on Orange over the weekend. Sat am, she
received a couple of calls OK - but then any calls to her started to go
straight to voicemail. She could still ring out OK.
We tried diverting all voice calls to my mobile. Seemed to set OK, nothing
happened in practice. Still vm.
She'd had the default message on voicemail, changed that to one saying
"I've got problems, ring this number instead". No dice. Still the default
voicemail message.
Yesterday evening, it looked like it was resolving itself - the BT landline
at home managed to make a succesful call to it. Not from me on Voda,
though.
Later on? Nope, BT won't connect to it either.
Is anybody else having probs on Orange at the mo? Sounds to me like a
network problem of some kind, but after an hour on hold to the teletubbies,
they just said "Oh, you're due a free upgrade, go into the nearest shop on
Monday and they'll replace your phone" (no mention, of course, of a new
contract...) - it ain't her K750, as the exact same behaviour happens with
her SIM in my 9300i.
Thoughts?

HLR? Que?
<quick google>
Ah.
Would that not also stop outgoing calls being made?
Still, it's academic now, as the damn thing suddenly started to work again
yesterday evening.

<quick google> - well done :-)
Outgoing calls, maybe, maybe not, depends on how confused the hlr is lol

Strange that, see my other post, my phone was playing up on Saturday
until today - so I changed the sim to another phone and all was OK
today.
3 calls received - the phone didnt ring once, all straight to voicemail.
I've just put the sim back into the 'faulty' phone, and all seems well
again.

Yes, easily. When your HLR goes away on holiday the phone will generally
behave as it's been cut off.
