Nokia / Orange sim lock
|
|
|
| I've bought an N95 which was used by someone else which he says is/was not
registered. I'm using my own Orange simcard so's to keep my number. I want
to use the sim lock to help prevent someone nicking it. the problem is I
can't activate pin code as there's a four digit number already there. which
I need to now to activate the pin code. the chap says this is just the
factory setting 0000 but it's not, anyone know how i find this four digit
number, I've had this sim for three years which came with my old samsung and
naver used the pin lock.

You won't, you'll need to phone Orange CS for your PUK code to unblock
your SIM if you block it.
1111 is good a guess as any as this was the default for many years.

The PIN is for the SIM card. Orange default is 1111. Are you talking
about Security code, which is something entirely different, and Nokia
default is 12345?

The PIN code counter does not reset after a period of time, it resets to
3when you put the right code in.

Nice to know thanks, interesting to see that they are trying to
improve things. Wouldn't know personally as I left them over a year
ago. ;)
