Unlocking SE W610i

Hi,

Please can anyone give me a DEFINITE answer as to whether it is possible to
network-unlock a SE W610i currently on Orange.
I have been searching the internet, but some places seem to think it can be
done, others say it can't. The best my local unlocking shop can say is he is
'quite hopeful' that he'll be able to do it. I'd really like to know for
sure before I go out and buy one as I'm very happy with my VM 300 minutes
and 300 texts for £10/month really want to be able to swap my VM SIM into
the new phone.
