Advice on blackberry models please

| Further to earlier posts I'm going to buy a 2nd hand blackberry.
Looking on ebay I see that in the cheap category (<100 pounds) there
are the 7130s, 8100s and the 8700s). I've seen some 7290s but they all
seem worringly cheap!?
The 7130 and 8100 seem to be the slim models and the 8700 the fatter
model with the "proper" qwerty keyboard.
What are people's experiences of the slimmer blackberries? I have
years of experience of predictive sms on mobile phones and initially
the 7130 looked nice and neat, but on thinking about it if I'm going
to have to type out messages on a qwerty keyboard perhaps the 8700
would be better.
Any comments greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I don't know anything about Blackberries, what is the advantage over a
normal mobile (e.g. a sony ericsson 3G phone)?

Remember that you will usually have to pay a fee for blackberry email
on top of a data plan, even to just use it to access webmail etc

I had one in the last job for two years, set up properly to synch with
outlook in the office
and recieve email etc. It was the 72** model I think...the classic
wide/slim with full qwerty.
Fits perfectly into the jacket front pocket.
It was a superb piece of equipment, and the only "mobile" that has given me
the impression of being
something grown ups may want to use, as opposed to something for the yoof
market...
Get one if you are willing to pay the add ons as an individual user

You can get an HP 514 unlocked, brand new, for a 100 quid. I bought one
and it's fantastic. Love the WiFi.
