Prepaid "SIM only" options UK?

| I will visit the UK several times within the next 12 months. I'm
looking for a reasonably priced prepaid SIM card for my mobile, which
will be used nearly only for incoming (EU) calls and outgoing SMS. No
other extras required. I am not too familiar with the UK mobile rules
but just do not want that the SIM card is switched off by the provider
when I do not have any activities for several weeks, e.g. when staying
outside the UK. Any link or hint appreciated.

You can of course make an 'International Text' from your own country
when you get home, so you are 'roaming' to reset the timer.

That's what I do. Two of our SIMs have been in use, off and on, for
more than 7 years.

I use the TESCO VALUE tariff (they have 3 others) - its very cheap but
doesn't support roaming so you may be able to recieve EU calsl but won;t be
able to make them (you may want teh ability to make EU calls in aan
aemergency of course) - in which case you will have to go for a different
tariff of theirs.

I use the Orange 'call abroad' tariff.
