| The t-mobile website

invitingly says "unlimited data" on its mobile broadband plans.
It then says "fair use of 3Gb" (on the same page). Surely it it EITHER
3Gb or unlimited!!!!????

Blame it on the Advertising Standards Authority who ruled, in response
to a complaint, that the word "unlimited" can indeed be used to
advertise a product that's limited. Perhaps the people at the ASA
don't really understand English.
Reminds me of the immortal words in "Through the Looking Glass":
When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful
tone,' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor
less.'
Regards, Mike.

Given some of the other limitations on what you can do with it, you may find
it hard to clock up much more than that during normal usage. Obviously if
you try downloading videos with it then you'll hit the limit, but normal
email and web usage with a laptop, saving updates and big downloads for
home, you probably won't get close to 3GB. I have the cheapest option
(phone-only, no laptop) and I haven't got close to the 1GB/mo limit despite
playing with Google Maps and using push-email.

But at least they do just cut you off if you exceed your fair use
quantity. Other telcos just send you a bill for a few grand.
